As a Registered Dietitian, I help people feel good in their own skin by guiding them towards healthy lifestyles that work for them. I teach them that good health and wellness are less about willpower or magic pills, and more about how you treat your body and how your body reacts to the food you give it.
Growing up I kept coming across different food “secrets”. How green tea can prevent cancer. Blueberries can slow the aging process. Cinnamon can help control blood sugar. Chocolate cures everything. Ok, that last one was probably a dream…
In every country and culture I encountered, I came across another “secret”. It was fascinating! All this health potential to be found in simple, accessible foods. I was hooked.
When I learned there was such a thing as studying nutrition and dietetics, I knew it was for me. It was like opening up an entire world of secrets! I felt like I had embarked on this amazing voyage of discovery, but without the hiking boots or threat of scurvy.
I became a Registered Dietitian and completed a master’s degree in Human Nutrition. I have worked at a fitness center, in medical clinics and in a hospital setting. I even worked with a major restaurant chain to create their menu for specialty diets. My studies and research helped me understand why fad diets don’t work, and what WILL. I saw how people struggled with weight, nutrition and overall health.
Most importantly, I saw how the knowledge I’d gained really could help people feel good about themselves.
I became a registered dietitian and health coach because I truly believe that with a better understanding of our relationship to food and guided support in making healthy, realistic changes, anyone can achieve their health goals and live well.
I now use my experience and knowledge to go beyond weight loss, because there is so much more to nutrition and good health than weight.
